Robert has held many posts in his career as a conductor, organist, harpsichordist and singer.  He has been Assistant Organist at Lichfield and Hereford cathedrals where his duties included that of Accompanist to the Three Choirs Festival.  He was also for many years Conductor of Herefordshire Orchestral Society which still included amongst its members some former pupils of Elgar, one of whom played one of the composer’s instruments which she eventually donated to the Birthplace Trust, the charity which administers the Birthplace and associated Education Centre.
