A message from the festival’s director Dr Joan Royle:
 

I would like to offer you a warm welcome to the Villages Music Festival.

​

In 2024 there are two events, the first a film screening of Yaron Zilberman’s ‘A Late Quartet’ on 26th April, featuring some of Beethoven’s greatest chamber music and exploring the complex interactions and emotions of the players, especially when one of them becomes ill and is no longer able to play.

​

The second event on 21st June features the young and exciting Astatine Piano Trio, at the beginning of their careers, followingXX their Wigmore Hall debut on 3rd May. We are delighted that they are giving a recital of Haydn’s Trio in E flat Hob and Schubert’s Trio no.2 in E flat for us in the lovely acoustic of Ripe church.

The next weeklong Villages Music Festival will run from Saturday 28th June 2025 to Sunday 6th July 2025. We are already planning some exciting events, including a performance of Puccini’s ’ La Bohème’.
