A semi-staged, abridged performance of Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” by Shoestring Opera, directed by Diana Bickley. Set in a marquee in a lovely garden, with bubbly and canapés.

Gardens open 4pm. Performance starts at 6pm. 20 minute interval. Approximate finish at 8.30pm.

Laughton Pop-up Orchestra, a Festival favourite, conducted by Ian McCrae. Bring your instrument and play some well-known classic favourites, including pieces by Boyce, Rameau, Lully, Telemann, a James Bond medley, and finishing with a new arrangement of Beethoven's 1st Symphony.  All instruments welcome. Informal concert at the end of the afternoon.

The Magnard Ensemble, led by Jon Farey, visit Laughton Community Primary School to introduce pupils to “Revolting Rhymes and Marvellous Music” – Roald Dahl’s take on popular tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs, introduced through spoken word, theatre and live music. Pupils will get the chance to create works alongside the ensemble for an informal concert for parents and friends at the end of the school day.

Laughton Village Choir and friends sing Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” from his ninth symphony, joined by soloists Michele Restieux (soprano) Rebecca Anstey (contralto), Ruairi Bowen (tenor) and Jozik Kotz (bass), who will serenade us further with Bizet’s “The Pearl Fishers” duet, accompanied by the Sussex String Quartet and Will Hancox on piano. A concert of classic favourites.
